A brass manufacturer, which is part of Germany-based Wieland Group, currently operates two foundries in North America and manufactures an array of brass alloys and products. Key customers include plumbing OEMs, machine shops and ammunition producers.

Wieland will become the second supplier of ordnance wire in North America and establish the company as the only manufacturer capable of supplying all forms of brass to the market, including strip and cup, as well as wire.

The project will include a 170,000-square-foot plant expansion.

Ordnance wire refers to specialized electrical wires and cables used in military applications, from robust connectors in vehicles (ordnance connectors) to fine bridgewires in detonators, designed for extreme durability, high voltage, and reliability in harsh conditions like vibration, moisture, and chemicals, ensuring systems like firing circuits, power distribution, and IED countermeasures function safely and effectively.
